Here are the results for generating points along a polyline: 1.) : (See attached file: LineBearingToPointTable.ave)(See attached file: LinesToDiscreteParts.ave)If I understood you correctly, these two scripts may help. The first computes line bearings of lines in a line theme selected by points in a point theme and assigns those bearings to a field in the point theme. The second converts a PolyLine theme to a (Poly)Line theme where every line segment in the original theme becomes a separate line in the new theme so that you can use the first script. Susan Zwillinger Here's a starting point: Use the divide1b.avx extension to "add points evenly along a line". You can find this on the ArcScipts page. Make sure your View Properties--Map Units are defined when you use this--I think I had some trouble with this if I didn't set the units in a new view. It would be best to project your data if it is in decimal degrees so that the Map Units are changed to meters. The dialog lets you space a certain number of points along a line evenly, or space the points by a specified distance starting from the beginning of the line.
